AI for Peace Invites AI Innovators, Indigenous Leaders, and Peacemakers to September 21 Fireside Summit

AI for Peace invites Indigenous leaders, peacemakers, community organizers, researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, and AI practitioners to the AI for Peace: Fireside Summit, held online on September 21, the United Nations International Day of Peace. The gathering will explore a practical question:

How can we turn shared intelligence into coordinated care for children and communities affected by conflict?

The summit culminates 11 Days to Prove Peace Is Possible, a global compassion challenge exploring how human and artificial intelligence can make peacemaking more visible, connected, consequential, and generative. Participants will share experiences, examine what they are learning, and identify opportunities to contribute next.

AI for Peace is inviting OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind, Meta, Microsoft, and xAI alongside independent developers, open-source communities, startups, educators, and organizations applying AI to public benefit. People building AI and people whose lives it may affect are invited to help shape the conversation.

Beginning with the Children

The summit will spotlight work with Golden Path of Peace in Ukraine and Gaza Children Village in Gaza, alongside contributions from a growing team of teams. Stories and field reports will explore what communities are asking for, how partners are responding, what shows promise, and what remains difficult or uncertain.

The focus is an emerging system of care: communities identify their priorities, and participating teams coordinate their knowledge, relationships, resources, and skills to support them. The gathering will explore how AI can assist that work, with human judgment, responsibility, and trust at its center.

Indigenous leaders are invited to bring their priorities, knowledge, and perspectives on care, collective responsibility, and relationships with the living world—and to help shape how technology serves communities.

From Shared Learning to Practical Collaboration

During the 11 Days, participants have experimented with AI to organize knowledge, synthesize conversations, and create shared learning resources. The summit will examine what has been useful, where evidence is still needed, and what could be developed or improved together.

Four questions will guide the gathering:
* Visible: What happened, what changed, and what can others learn?
* Connected: How are relationships opening pathways for knowledge, resources, and support?
* Consequential: What is making a practical difference, and where can AI help?
* Generative: What have we learned, and what can we carry forward together?

An opening presentation will lead into a fireside conversation about the possibilities, limitations, and responsibilities of using human and artificial intelligence to advance peace. The summit will close with concrete opportunities to contribute skills, strengthen partnerships, and support community priorities.
