DALLAS, TX, UNITED STATES, October 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — EarthX, The Way of the Rain, Inc., and M3 – Make Media Matter will present the Texas premiere of The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth: A Symphony for Our Planet on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the Dallas Museum of Art’s Horchow Auditorium. Presented as part of EarthX’s HALF-EARTH DAY® celebration and in partnership with the Dallas International Film Festival, the evening will bring together film, music, visual art, and conversation around humanity’s relationship with the natural world.
Created and directed by environmental artist Sibylle Szaggars Redford, The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth is a cinematic environmental work that traces a journey from the formation of the universe and galaxies to the emergence of Earth as a singular, living planet. The film combines orchestral music, choral performance, cinematic imagery, visual art, and spoken word to create an immersive meditation on the beauty, fragility, and interdependence of life on Earth.
The work features music by composer Tim Janis, performance-film artistry by Floyd Thomas McBee, and Alexandra Raszkazoff as the Mother Earth soloist. It also includes Robert Redford’s final narration and spoken-word performance for The Way of the Rain.
The Dallas premiere carries particular meaning for the project. The film preserves the October 22, 2022, live performance of The Way of the Rain at Dallas’s Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, featuring the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Youth Choir under the direction of conductor Julien Benichou. Four years later, the work returns to the city where that performance was first realized, now reimagined as a cinematic experience for a new audience.
“The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth is a love letter to Mother Earth and an invitation to remember that humanity is inseparable from the natural world,” said Sibylle Szaggars Redford, Founder and Artistic Director of The Way of the Rain, Inc. “I am deeply honored to bring this film home to Dallas, where this extraordinary performance was first realized with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Youth Choir.”
“From the moment I encountered Sibylle Szaggars Redford’s extraordinary vision, I knew it belonged at EarthX,” said Trammell S. Crow, Founder of EarthX. “This film brings together the beauty of art, the emotional force of music, and the essential urgency of environmental stewardship.”
Through its layered visual and musical language, The Way of the Rain – Hope for Earth invites audiences to consider the living systems that sustain the planet and the responsibility people share in protecting them. Rather than presenting environmental issues solely through data or policy, the work uses art to create space for reflection, emotional connection, and shared purpose.
The October 22 program begins with a VIP cocktail reception at 5:00 p.m., followed by remarks from Sibylle Szaggars Redford at 6:00 p.m. The screening begins at 6:15 p.m., and the evening concludes with a filmmaker conversation and audience Q&A at 7:15 p.m.
VIP tickets are $100 and include the cocktailreception, screening, and Q&A. General-admission tickets are $20 and include the screening and Q&A. Tickets and additional information are available at https://www.events.earthx.org/TWOTR26/begin.
The film is produced by EarthX, The Way of the Rain, Inc., August Sky, King Hollis, M3 – Make Media Matter, and Michael Cain.
