CleanCapital, an independent power producer focused on distributed solar and energy storage, today announced a series of executive leadership appointments. The changes align the company’s leadership structure with the capabilities that define its platform: repeatable origination, repeatable development, capital discipline, and operational rigor across a national portfolio of operating and development-stage assets.
As part of these changes:
- Winston Chen has been appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Chen will lead investment strategy, underwriting, capital markets and portfolio finance, ensuring that capital is allocated consistently against defined investment criteria and long-term portfolio objectives.
- Brendan Canavan has been appointed Chief Development Officer (CDO), succeeding Paul Curran, who retired in May. Canavan will lead the development organization from project acceptance through commercial operation, including interconnection, engineering, and construction, with a mandate to deliver projects on a consistent, repeatable basis.
- Carly Battin has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Battin will lead corporate strategy, communications, and the company’s data and technology roadmap.
In addition, Melinda Baglio has been named Chief Legal Officer, overseeing the company’s legal and governance functions, and Julia Bell has been named Chief Growth Officer, responsible for origination, acquisitions, offtake, policy, and portfolio optimization. Zoe Berkery continues as Chief Operating Officer, and Thomas Byrne and Jon Powers continue as Chief Executive Officer and President, respectively.
“CleanCapital has spent a decade building the relationships, development capabilities, capital partnerships, and operating discipline that institutional investors expect from a platform,” said Thomas Byrne, Chief Executive Officer of CleanCapital. “These appointments put clear ownership behind each of those capabilities and position us to keep executing our strategy for our partners and investors.”
