Announcement made at AUSA 2026 as ePropelled expands engagement with the U.S. defense and autonomy sectors
LACONIA, NH / ACCESS Newswire / October 13, 2026 / ePropelled, a global leader in electric propulsion and energy management systems for uncrewed vehicles, today announced the appointment of Harry Petrey as Director of Defense Affairs. The announcement was made during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting & Exposition (October 12-14), where Petrey joins members of the ePropelled executive leadership team to engage with military leaders, government stakeholders and industry partners focused on the future of defense and autonomous systems.
In his new role, Petrey will lead strategic engagement across the defense and national security community, supporting ePropelled’s growing presence in autonomous systems, sovereign manufacturing initiatives, advanced propulsion, energy management and next-generation defense technologies. He will also support the expansion of ePropelled’s U.S. manufacturing capabilities for government customers, helping strengthen domestic production capacity and resilient supply chains for critical propulsion technologies.
Petrey brings more than three decades of experience spanning the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Navy, intelligence community and defense industry. Throughout his career he has led major initiatives in digital transformation, data strategy, technology modernization, innovation management and national security policy.
Most recently, Petrey served as a Senior Solutions Expert at Mission Technologies, a division of HII. He previously held senior leadership positions including Policy Team Leader within the Office of the Chief Digital and AI Officer at the U.S. Department of Defense, Chief Data Officer for Navy Intelligence, and Chief Data Officer within the Bureau of Intelligence and Research at the U.S. Department of State.
His career has also included senior roles with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and Joint Interagency Task Force South. He holds a Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
As Director of Defense Affairs, Petrey will support ePropelled’s expanding presence across defense and security markets, helping connect operational requirements with advanced propulsion, power management and energy technologies for next-generation autonomous platforms operating in the air, on land and at sea.
“AUSA provides an important opportunity to engage directly with military leaders, industry partners and policymakers shaping the future of defense capability,” said Nick Grewal, Chairman, CEO and Founder of ePropelled. “Harry brings a rare combination of strategic leadership, technology expertise and deep understanding of the defense ecosystem. His experience across government, intelligence and digital transformation will be instrumental as we strengthen our support for customers seeking sovereign, high-performance propulsion and energy solutions for autonomous systems. His experience will also help support our efforts to expand U.S.-based manufacturing capability and strengthen the industrial capacity needed to meet future customer demand.”
Commenting on his appointment, Petrey said: “The United States and its allies face an urgent challenge to strengthen industrial capacity, accelerate innovation and field advanced capabilities at speed. Events such as AUSA bring together the organizations and leaders working to address that challenge. ePropelled has developed technologies that align closely with these priorities, supporting the next generation of autonomous and uncrewed systems. Onshoring manufacturing is finally getting the attention it deserves, and I am excited to help turn that momentum into meaningful capability and capacity for America and its allies.”
The appointment comes as demand continues to grow for autonomous platforms and resilient domestic manufacturing capabilities across the United States and allied nations. ePropelled is expanding its global footprint and investing in sovereign supply chains, advanced manufacturing capacity and next-generation propulsion technologies to support customers operating across defense, security and commercial markets.
