SentiLink Receives USDA Authority to Operate to Support SNAP Fraud Prevention
PR Newswire
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2026
The authorization builds on SentiLink’s FedRAMP® Ready status and extends the company’s identity verification technology to protect SNAP benefits.
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — SentiLink, the leading provider of innovative identity resolution and fraud detection solutions, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted an Authority to Operate (ATO) for SentiLink’s technology in support of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

The ATO permits USDA to use SentiLink’s technology within the approved system boundary to help detect identity fraud and strengthen program integrity for SNAP. It follows SentiLink’s Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) Ready designation, achieved in May 2025, and reflects the company’s continued investment in meeting the security and operational requirements federal agencies require.
Identity fraud schemes increasingly rely on stolen personal information, fabricated identities, and AI-enabled tactics to evade conventional controls. SentiLink combines machine learning with a dedicated Fraud Intelligence Team that studies emerging fraud methods and feeds those findings back into its models. The company verifies more than 3 million identities and identifies more than 150,000 instances of identity fraud each day.
“Fraud doesn’t stop at the edge of the banking system, and neither should the tools built to catch it,” said Kathleen Waid, Chief Revenue Officer, SentiLink. “Families who depend on SNAP benefit directly: better identity verification means faster, more reliable access for eligible participants, and fraud stopped before taxpayers foot the bill. That’s the same identity intelligence that 13 of the 15 largest U.S. banks already rely on, soon protecting SNAP program integrity and the taxpayer dollars behind it.”
The ATO gives USDA a reviewed, authorized path to deploy SentiLink’s technology for the approved SNAP use case, supporting the agency’s efforts to detect suspicious identity patterns while helping eligible applicants access benefits through secure digital services.
